An Example Of How To Plan and Live a Day With Purpose

Yesterday, I posed a challenge for the Padawans on this platform: Plan and live one day with purpose during the next week.

Basically, to live a day with a purpose you need to answer Six Key Questions that frame everything you do with purpose. It is as easy as that. Living a life with purpose, of course, is a much broader scope than just living a day with purpose. Ideally, you live each day with purpose so that the cumulative effect compounds to a life with purpose.

For some people, nevertheless, it might not be practicable since they do not have total control over their daily routines. Imagine a startup founder that needs to deal with an unforeseen problem and has to set his plans for that day aside to ensure the survival of his company. Even parents with toddlers cannot exert as much control over their day as they would like to.

Hence, the challenge is to balance your plans and real-life in a way that you can look back at the end of your day/week/month/year/life and conclude: It was good and purposeful — I have been effective and my work has been meaningful.

I thought, that it might be easier if I share with you, how I plan my days with purpose. I blend different tools and techniques that suit me best. The picture below is an example of how to apply the Purpose Framework to just one day. I hope this inspires you and demonstrates how easy it is to live a purpose-driven life – day by day.
